Hello, I am one of the original admins of the wiki. My hiatus is continuing due to being swamped with maintaining at least three to four wikis at a time.
One day I will return here and try to get things in order, but for now, things seem to be alright, just slow.
i see that some articles are fiddled and providing illegal Links to Discontinued Models.
those discontinued articles will be protected by admin rights from now on! and anymore fiddling or necroing articles with false information/removing content. then your IP will be automatically block without warning even you try to use someone else device.
i am the eye and i watch your activity even outside the device.
So you're adding a page for a certain model in the MikuMikuDance Wiki and you don't know how?
here are a set of rules you should know before adding something here.
- No Illegal Edits.
- No Alternate Links to the original Source. (Unless it was made by the same creator or permissioned for preservation.) Links must led to original source!
- No Spoiling of Password and hints.
- No Ripped Models from Games or converted 3D models from sites that purchase them. (only converted 3D models from Modellers like Deino who have there models converted into MikuMikuDance for them.)
- You Must put every detail that comes with the model. (An Example is the Readme that contains information such as rules and model policy.)
- You must follow Wikia's format for Model pages with this template.
http://mikumikudance.wikia.com/wiki/Template:Infobox_MMDmodel (a freely generated template will appear when you create an article and select models)
- Uploading images must be in a right format. of being JPEG or PNG but PNG is likely recommended and the size must be 800x450 or Higher showing the whole model with the default pose. (Custom Poses are not allowed.) the name should follow the image from the right.
- Removing images and information from discontinued Pages will be reverted! since it's not nessecary to remove images. unless youre the creator. but i will not allow you to remove them since the removing of the preview is forbidding! since the wikia is like one big Photo Album, i won't allow you to remove them since there discontinued and the preview represents the model on how it looks!
you will be permenanlty block even you are the creator since you must understand that your model isn't used in artwork but a preview of you're models that serves as memory. same goes to information! remember that this is a wikia and you're information as a modeler and your models will stay to be readable and viewable.
Once a page is getting enough Vandilism then it will be Restricted for Admins.
if you don't know how to create a page? then send me the information and i'll do it myself when you message me.
i have created a new template to categorize NicoNicoDouga community based models.
if you're a member of an MMD Community in Nico Nico Douga of that author? please you can contribute the models and modeler into this wikia if you can, but there are some exceptions if the model author doesn't allow his/her models to be used in overseas in his/her community. it won't be added in the wikia as respect for the modeler.
also if your a member of this japanese communities, you should be careful when using this models!
Hello, maintenance admin here.
I will attempt to update the infobox and layout of wiki pages. Attempting to put the wiki inline with its default features, which will encourage editing by novice contributors. I was helped with my prime wiki's infobox and I feel I can transfer the coding to here.
My knowledge of the MMD program is limited, but I will be around to help if needed.
I was always going to have the readme txt some place on the wiki, so the Wiki Discussion forum was used as a temporary place to house them. I now renamed the Wiki Discussion to Readme txt archive. And then recreated a new Wiki Discussion forum so that it focuses on the subject of the wiki.
Since the Wiki forums are turned on. Is there anyone who wants me to switch on Wiki's Message_Wall or leave things as User_talk?
You can read about them here Help:Message Wall.
<script>JSSnippetsStack.push({dependencies:["/extensions/wikia/AjaxPoll/css/AjaxPoll.scss","/extensions/wikia/AjaxPoll/js/AjaxPoll.js"],callback:function(json){AjaxPoll.init(json)},id:"AjaxPoll.init"})</script>To have the "Display" parameter make more sense to contributors, I will be updating this to visibly show the YouTube and NicoNico video thumbnail. This will also help (youtube wise) in determining when a video is no longer available for viewing. This should be implemented during the week.
This category update is to make sorting Creator (aka Modelers) pages into more blatantly titled categories. The current one appears to have confused some contributors.
The new categories are the following
- Category:Modelers - This is the category that all creator pages go into.
- -- Category:Creates models from scratch - As you read, this is for modelers whose primary work consist of making models with a 3D program. They have ownership over the texture, artwork and pixels placed onto a model.
- -- Category:Creates models by editing - As you read, this is for modelers whose primary work consist of making models from other people's models, they commonly use PMD Editor. They may sometimes create original textures but largely the model is considered an edit if the creator states it as such.
And as before the modelers can be sorted into both categories if they have indeed moved from Editing models to creating their own. If a modeler has been editing their own models to make duplicate or new models, then still, that will count as being from scratch as that is their base to begin with.
To make new articles easier to edit, Preload templates have been created. If you are on the default Oasis skin, you should it on the right side of the content box. And if you are on Monobook skin, you should see it below the content box. This is a MediaWiki JS alteration and requires java to function. Though on Monobook you should be able to get the non java version to work just fine; it is located above the content box.
- Where it says "Standard preloads", you can click where it says "(click to browse)" to pull down a list of templates. Clicking on one of them will place it on the page you are editing, rather than having to find a page that has the template.
- Where it says "Custom preload pagename", enter the title of a page in the box to load all the text on that page into the page you are editing. You will probably very rarely, if not even use this button.

The Wikia's new forum module was activated in an attempt to increase forum traffic and possible learn more about a model or creator by easily making a topic from the article page. Notice that the forums are not blogs and in order to have a blog you should create an account.
What belongs on the Forums
- General Discussion - This board is for general conversations about the wiki. Such as MikuMikuDance, Models, and Vocaloid. Can also include related Music, Producers, Series etc involving MMD.
- Off-Topic Discussion - Similar to the Watercooler of old, this forum is slightly laxed. Off-topic discussion, introductions; talk about anything you want, just keep it within reason. It can include games and fun posts; it doesn't mean spamming will be tolerated.
- Questions and Answers - Questions pertaining to the wiki or the MikuMikuDance program, Vocaloid franchise or related and similar subjects.
- Wiki Discussion - Discussions of wiki related issues; users, modules, and projects. Discussions of article content, layout, and improvements. etc
- News and Announcements - Important news pertaining to the wiki (Topic creation is primarily by admins and helpers with colored names). If contributors want to comment on a topic then they are allowed.
What doesn't belong here
- Excessive Roleplay - MMD Wiki does not specializes in recruitment/club/roleplay content. The following alternatives are available:
- Vocaloid Roleplay (up for adoption)
- There are many online forums built for this activity.
- Social blogging sites such as LiveJournal, tumblr, and Facebook.
- The Fanloid Wiki currently does not accept this activity either due to solo admin, however, a Fanon namespace is available for stories.
- Spam - Threads must not contain gibberish or spam.
- Abuse - Threads must not be for the purpose of insulting users or inciting arguments.
- Bumps - Bump messages should only be posted 24 hours after a lack of activity on a thread. Threads should have no more than two successive bumps.
Enjoy
Over all, enjoy the forums, this a blank canvas which you can fill with ideas, discussions, and news! If you are ever in doubt, merely contact one of our admins!
